# Using Camera Raw

The next program in our toolbox is Camera Raw (Figure 7-3). This program is part of the Photoshop Creative Suite, but it does more than photography programs. It’s meant for all kinds of digital imaging, including editing photos, creating graphics, and cataloging your photos. (The third program in this set, Adobe Lightroom 4, is another Adobe photo-editing tool—though a very different one. See the box on the facing page for a complete description of the program.)

These days, you’ll find most software programs bundled as part of a “Creative Suite” or “Professional Suite.” The reason for the name is a simple one: These tools work in tandem and complement one another very well. After all, it would make little sense to have programs that can’t work together.

It has a very good selection of effects, filters, and visual editing tools like cropping, retouching, etc. It has two components, the editor (EPS) and the web library (EPSweb). The web library is only available for online use and it is not at all what you might call an image editor.

Elements is a free program, but it has the same layout and effects as the paid version.

Photoshop Elements is a lot like the Windows Paint. You can draw, paint, and so on. It is a simple but excellent program.

This program is very easy to use. It is available in both Windows and Mac versions. You simply install it and it will appear under the Crop menu in Windows or under the Adjust menu in Mac. You can start up the program or open an existing file in Photoshop Elements if you are using that program.

You have a few options at the top of the screen:

Layer: This is the main menu of Photoshop Elements. In the upper left corner it will show the active layer.

Photoshop Elements is capable of a lot of edits.

The menus above are the buttons you use most of the time to edit the image. They will now be covered.

If you click on the New Layer icon, you will create a new layer for the image. The main menu includes a list of all the layers in the file. Once you create a new layer, it will be highlighted. You can modify the layer as a whole or you can simply draw on top of it. You can either draw a new layer or edit an existing layer.

To edit the image, click on the picture icon on the right side of the screen. You can crop the image, adjust the brightness and contrast, change the color, and many other editing options.

To reduce or increase the size of the image, click on the Crop icon.

, that’s an interesting dynamic in US water law. Of course, there’s a lot we don’t know about the “natural” system of lakes and rivers. What is the real watershed? Where does it start? The vast majority of Americans work for large corporations; and many of these corporations are global. That means that what happens at the state, county, city, and even neighborhood level matters far more to the citizens of the US than we might suspect.

Water is a critical element, and it is not being well managed at any level.

Say I have a Parent model, and I want to display the data for all of it’s children with separate tags, the same way I can do it in a Rails form. Each Parent has many Child objects, and each Child has a name and a tag attribute.
